COMPANY POLICY

OBJECTIVES OF THE CODE

  1. Ensure safety at sea

  2. Prevention of human injuries

  3. Prevention of loss of life

  4. Avoidance of  damage to the environment

  5. Avoidance of  damage to property

SAFETY MANAGEMENT OBJECTIVES

  1. Provide for safe practice in ship operation

  2. Provide for a safe working environment

  3. Assess all identified risks to its ship, personnel and the environment and establish appropriate safeguards

  4. Continuously improve safety-management skills of personnel ashore and aboard ships

  5. Prepare personnel for emergencies relating both to safety and environmental protection

SAFETY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM MUST ENSURE:

  1. Compliance with mandatoty rules and regulations

  2. That applicable codes, guidelines and standards recommended by the Organization, Administrations, Classifications Societies and Maritime Industry Organisations are taken into account

SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION POLICY

  1. The Company should establish a safety and environmental protection policy which describes how the objectives given will be achieved

  2. The Company should ensure that the policy is implemented and maintained at all levels of the organisation both ship-based and shore-based.

COMPANY RESPONSABILITIES AND AUTHORITY

  1. The Company is responsible for ensuring that adequate resources and shore-based support are provided to enable  the Designated Person(s) to carry out their functions
