About the Role
As 1st Chief Engineer on our bulk carrier under the Italian flag, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the maintenance, repair, and efficient operation of all mechanical and electrical systems on board. You will lead the engineering team, ensuring the vessel's machinery meets or exceeds industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the maintenance, repair, and efficient operation of all machinery on board the bulk carrier.
Lead and manage the engineering team, fostering a culture of safety, collaboration, and excellence.
Coordinate with the Captain and First Officer to ensure the seamless integration of machinery operations with overall vessel activities.
Conduct regular inspections and surveys of machinery and equipment to identify and address issues promptly.
Implement and enforce safety protocols, ensuring compliance with international maritime regulations and company policies.
Collaborate with shore-based teams to procure spare parts, equipment, and technical support as needed.
Contribute to the development and implementation of preventive maintenance programs.
Prepare and submit accurate reports, including machinery status reports and maintenance logs.

Requirements
Experience in rank on board Bulk Carrier vessels (panamax/post panamax)
Certificate of Competency recognized by Italian Flag
Valid two-years medical certificate
Knowledge of English language with "Marlins" attestation
Cyber Security certificate
Travel passport with residual validity of 18 months
Valid seamen’s book
Covid19 vaccine
Yellow fever vaccine
